It is not surprising that overloaded vehicles are rather common as they, in turn, are very lucrative business venture for the Hauliers.

Public Safety

Major Objectives of the Axle Load Conrol Programme:

The main objectives of the axle load programme are:

  • To establish a robust and efficient control system with capacity to protect the core road net work against illegal overloading.
  • To contribute to the reduction in the number of accidents caused by overloaded vehicles.
  • To contribute to a sustainable road sector in Zambia through a substantial
  • reduction in damages caused by overloaded vehicles.
