The construction of a series comprising five ACROW Bridges across Muyembe River along the Zambezi-Chinyama-Litapi Road in Zambezi District in North-Western has been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Road Development Agency (RDA) in first quarter of 2023 embarked on the project to construct five ACROW Bridges using Zambia Army as the contractor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scope of works included but was not limited to the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Site clearing and camp establishment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Construction of two reinforced concrete abutments;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Erosion protection works;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Construction of approach embankments;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Assembly of the prefabricated steel superstructures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Launching of the prefabricated steel superstructures; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Ancillary works.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The bridges are now open to traffic.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
