{"id":4289,"date":"2025-07-18T07:44:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T07:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rda.org.zm\/?p=4289"},"modified":"2025-07-18T07:58:01","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T07:58:01","slug":"lusaka-ndola-dual-carriageway-works-progressing-well","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rda.org.zm\/?p=4289","title":{"rendered":"LUSAKA-NDOLA DUAL CARRIAGEWAY WORKS PROGRESSING WELL"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-tcp5s9my alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-x6a9m3ge\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-info-box uagb-block-bkiodkmi uagb-infobox__content-wrap  uagb-infobox-icon-above-title uagb-infobox-image-valign-top wp-block-uagb-info-box--has-margin\"><div class=\"uagb-infobox-margin-wrapper\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-content\"><div class=\"uagb-ifb-title-wrap\"><h2 class=\"uagb-ifb-title\">Media tour&#8230; <\/h2><\/div><p class=\"uagb-ifb-desc\">The Road Development Agency (RDA) today conducted a media tour of works on the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway.<br><br>RDA Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager, Anthony Mulowa told journalists during the tour that construction works on the Lusaka\u2013Ndola Dual Carriageway had attained 36% completion point.<br><br>Mr. Mulowa said 415 kilometres of clearing and grubbing had been done and 269 kilometres of subgrade.<br><br>He said 231 kilometres of selected layer, 395 kilometres cement stabilised soil, 162 kilometres and 110 kilometres of asphalt layer had been achieved.<br><br>Further, Mr. Mulowa said as at 30th June 2025, 3510 Zambians had been engaged on the project, thereby contributing significantly to local employment growth. Kalengo said the Agency was also undertaking independent quality control checks and was happy with the works undertaken thus far.<br><br>Site Engineer Chuanjun Xu from Macro Oceans Investment Consortium (MOIC-LN) said the works were progressing according to schedule.<br><br>The Concession Agreement (CA) for upgrading of the Lusaka-Ndola Road into a dual carriageway was signed with Messrs. The project also involves the rehabilitation of 45 kilometres of the Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Road, construction of approximately 30 kilometres long bypasses in Kabwe and Kapiri-Mposhi towns.<br><br>The project also involves the construction of two new Toll Plazas, one on the Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Section, and the other between Chibombo and Kafulafuta with the existing one at Kapiri Mposhi being upgraded and maintained.<br>A new bridge is being constructed at Kafubu Bridge in Ndola.<br><br>The Concessionaire is undertaking works from four points on the project, namely from Lusaka side to Chibombo (1), Chibombo to Kapiri Mposhi (2), Kapiri Mposhi to Ndola (3) and Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Road (4).<br><br>Works on the 45
