KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and implement RDA policies and guidelines including resolutions of the Board of Directors, in line with approved Strategic Business Focus and Annual Work Plans and in strict adherence to all the laws and regulations governing the Road Sector and the operations of the Agency;
- Through appropriate and up-to-date functional/departmental Policies, Procedures and Guideline Manuals, provide overall administration of the RDA including planning, organising, monitoring and controlling all day-to-day activities of the Agency in order to achieve the established and desired strategic, operational, financial, economic and socio-political goals of the roads sector;
- Arrange and provide in a systematic manner, best practice corporate governance principles with respect to Meetings of the Board and its various Committees as well as any other meetings held pertaining to the overall activities of the RDA;
- Take particular interest in the identification, selection, placement, continuous professional development, regular performance appraisal and retention of high calibre staff in all departments of the operations of the Agency; and
- Ensure prudent management of resources of the Agency in line with the Public Finance Management Act of 2018 and international best practice standards;
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Valid membership of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and a valid practicing license issued by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) are essential requirements.
- At least 10 years' work experience in a senior management role within the civil engineering sector.
